11/17/09

11/17/09 Well the last three weeks have been full of doctors appointments, lab visits, and hospitals visits. So Joe still has not had the TEE (transesophageal echocardiogram ) because his blood is still to thin, it has gotten thinner 5.7 now they have been treating it with transfusions of fresh frozen blood plasma and daily doses of vitamin K. This has been a vicious circle because they can't correct the atrialfibrilation until they can do the TEE and the can't do that until they get the blood disorder corrected but the treatment for the blood is not working. Thursday he is going for more testing to see if it is more than the factor X (10) deficiency. He is still suffering with the coldness and chills. I am back out of work we are usually at a doctors or somewhere at least four days a week and Joe was not doing well mentally being home alone. Also with the blood and heart issues he really should not be home alone if something happens, if he falls and starts bleeding it could be very bad. It all has not been bad over the last three weeks, he has made some progress he has improved mentally he is not as depressed and has put on six pounds, his color looks good most days and he is sleeping better oh and he has hair. His hair has really started coming back you can hardly tell he was bald a few weeks ago it is a little more silver than before and it is real soft. His goatee has grown back also. Today he woke up feeling short of breath and dizzy and very nauseous ended up getting sick after having lunch, he has not felt this bad in quite a few days, his blood pressure was very low of course today we were not at the doctors, yesterday we were and tomorrow and Wednesday we are but the docs are great they always call us right back when we call them when Joe's not doing well. He is resting now but tonight will be another sleepless night of worry, but that's ok I am not complaining just stating a fact. Well Saturday November 21st is Joe's 100th day since his stem cell transplant and knock on wood no infection, like I explained to you before this is a big deal if you get a chance give him a call or send him a email congratulating him. I want to thank all of you who have been sending him get well cards or cards of encouragement they really help, he enjoys the scratch offs to. We love you and God Bless, please keep praying for Joe his journey is still long.
